General Tab

Tip: Start here for core setup. Overrides help tailor policies without per-post edits.

Current Policy Tab

  • Active Policy Dashboard: Displays your resolved global policy, including license label, description, and capabilities (e.g., training: prohibited, search: permitted).
  • Capability Table: Breaks down permissions like AI access tier, training allowed, inference, commercial use, and more.
  • License URL: Link to the full license text on Elthian.com.

Use Case: Quick audit of what signals are being sent.

Signals Tab

  • Enable/Disable Outputs: Toggle robots.txt appending, llms.txt endpoint, JSON well-known file, and HTTP headers.
  • Preview Signals: Shows sample directives (e.g., robots.txt: “User-agent: * Disallow: /” for NoAI).
  • Advanced Notes: Explains how signals work (e.g., headers ensure per-request awareness).

Tip: Enable all for comprehensive signaling. Test by visiting yoursite.com/llms.txt or /.well-known/elthian-ai-policy.json.

Badge Tab

  • Badge Location: Choose footer, content bottom, or shortcode (

  • Layout & Size: Select wide/compact/stacked; scale from 70–110%.
  • Custom Text/Link: Edit the badge text (e.g., “AI License: %s”) and link to your policy page.

Use Case: Add a human-visible notice to build trust with visitors. Hide per-post via the editor meta box.

Sync Tab

  • Opt-In Sync: Enable/disable sharing your policy with Elthian’s server for aggregation (helps with visibility in AI ecosystems).
  • Sync Status: Shows last sync time/result (success/error). Manual sync button.
  • Privacy Note: Only anonymized policy data is sent — no content or user info.

Tip: Opt-in for better discoverability; disable if privacy is a concern. Runs daily via cron.

Info Tab

  • Plugin Details: Version, author, links to docs/support.
  • System Info: Quick checks for compatibility (WP/PHP versions).
  • Upgrade Teaser: Brief intro to Pro features (e.g., scope rules, analytics).

Use Case: Reference for troubleshooting or exploring Pro.
